Metakaolin, according to its particle size, is a product with high pozzolanic properties obtained by thermal activation of kaolin (rotary calcination kiln at a controlled temperature) and subsequent micronization of the product ultrafine. It is a dehydroxylated aluminum silicate, amorphous structure, non-crystalline particles comprising high lamellar fineness.
It is mainly used as a Pozzolanic additive of mortars and concretes based on Portland or lime cement.
